President's Message

Hello Members!
 
Well, this month's exciting news is a heartfelt "Congratulations" to Joan Cuppoletti, our newly elected Sonoma County Charter Chapter Woman of the Year!! There will be a special "Woman of the Year" Program at the July BAC Meeting that sounds like it's not to be missed and Joan will be representing us - way to go, Joan!

Included in the newsletter, you'll find a sheet with 50 Program Topics that was provided by the Bay Area Council. It contains business-related speaker topics that meet the Best Practices criterion for Chapter meetings. Please fill out your form by checking the topics you would be most interested in hearing about (as many as you like). Then, I'll collect them at the June meeting for use by the Program Chair for the next term. This is a really great way to member relevant topics into our Chapter's Program and if you have any suggestions of speakers you would like to hear, feel free to write them in. We'll also be looking for 2 volunteers interested in developing their public speaking skills by presenting a "Plan B" as provided by National. The material is already provided - we just need someone willing to be our Speaker for a meeting. Please let either Barbara or I know if you're interested.

On the subject of fundraising:

I hope everyone can help out on July 19th and 20th for our Garage Sale. Everyone gets their choice of roles; donating, pricing, set-up, tear-down, selling, signage, baking (goodies are always appreciated), cashiering, or buying! Please remember we will need 2 teams in order to cover both Lucille/Brenda's house as well as Evelyn's for the day so, PLEASE invite your friends, relatives, or any other prospective helpers you can think of - we need all the womanpower we can get for that day!

Also, we are beginning to plan for a 50/50 Raffle to be held later this year. The custom printed tickets cost approximately $100 so, we'd like to find 2 sponsoring businesses to contribute $50 each toward the printing to include their business name. Tickets will be sold over a 2-3 month period so if you have any suggestions, please let us know.
